The 2008 New Mexico Tax Id permit requirement has been extended. Your 2007 Tax Id's will be accepted through the end of February 2008. Currently there is nothing in a written format, however, the New Mexico Enforcement (Ports) are being notified as of 28 December 2007. A few snags have been reported with the current system. Below are just a few examples: - If you are using your social security number as your FEIN (Federal Employee Identification Number) , then you could be experiencing problems obtaining your 2008 Tax ID permit. You must notify the state or Transportation Regulatory Consultants to remedy this problem.
- If you have ANY outstanding debt owed to the State of New Mexico (usually being a non-filer for any past quarters) you will be denied a 2008 New Mexico Tax Id. You must notify the state or Transportation Regulatory Consultants to remedy this problem.
Please contact Transportation Regulatory Consultants to remedy these issues or you could face not being able to obtain the proper New Mexico Tax ID credentials prior to 1 March 2008.
